ORLANDO, Fla. — Higher rain and storm chances are on the way across Central Florida as deeper tropical moisture pushes into the area.
Thursday will start with coastal showers, but that activity should diminish by late morning.
The Crew-13 launch has a 55% chance of favorable weather conditions.
More widespread rain and storms are expected to develop during the afternoon, with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s.
Storm activity should gradually decrease Thursday evening, although coastal showers will remain possible into the early morning hours. Overnight lows will settle into the mid-70s.
The unsettled pattern will continue into Friday, with rain and storm coverage expected to increase through the afternoon and evening.
Highs will again reach the upper 80s as tropical moisture remains in place.
The weekend will remain unsettled, although mornings should be mostly dry.
Rain and thunderstorms will become more numerous during the afternoon and evening both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will remain in the upper 80s.
A cold front approaching the area early next week will help increase rain and storm chances even further.
Much of next week could stay active as additional tropical moisture continues to move into Central Florida, keeping rain and storm chances elevated.
