Rain and storm chances increase through the weekend

Rain chances rise this weekend with heavy rain and gusty storms possible Sunday.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Breezy conditions and increasing rain chances are in the forecast as we head into the weekend.

Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will make for a breezy Friday.

Those winds are already pushing a few scattered showers and isolated storms toward the coastline.

Rain chances will gradually increase through the weekend, with showers and storms becoming more widespread by Sunday.

Some storms could bring heavy rain, gusty winds and small hail, so residents should be prepared for changing conditions, especially during the second half of the weekend.

Despite the increasing rain chances, temperatures will remain warm Friday, with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 80s.

The tropics remain relatively quiet, with Invest 98L facing increasingly unfavorable conditions.

The system has a 10% chance of development over the next 48 hours, and its chance of developing remains at 10% over the next seven days.

Current conditions are expected to prevent significant development.
