MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Rescue Ball 2026 has sold out two weeks before its event on Oct. 10 at the Brevard Zoo. The event marks 10 years of operations for Rescue Rebels by Cash for Canines.
Rescue Rebels is a foster-based, volunteer-run nonprofit organization serving South and Central Florida. Since its founding in 2016, the organization has saved more than 400 dogs, focusing on working breeds in need of urgent medical care, rehabilitation, training, and placement.
The celebration will take place at the Nyami Nyami River Lodge at the Brevard Zoo. The evening will include a sunset social hour, dinner, a silent auction titled The Rebels Collection, and a presentation called Collars of Hope, which highlights the organization’s future rescue goals.
Country music singer Jay Allen will perform a 60-minute acoustic set during the evening. Known for his appearance on the television show “The Voice,” Allen is an Alzheimer’s advocate whose song “Blank Stares” brought national attention to families and caregivers affected by the disease.
Jennifer Martin Sorrentino serves as the founder and president of Rescue Rebels. She discussed the community support behind the milestone event.
“Selling out tells us that people see the promise in these dogs, just as we do,” Sorrentino said. “This night honors every foster family, volunteer, adopter, and supporter who helped give a dog another chance. It also helps us prepare to say yes to the next one.”
