ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two restaurants at the University of Central Florida Student Union have been permanently shut down over unaddressed food safety issues, university officials said.
Huey Magoo’s and Asian Chao were given one month to take care of food-handling and sanitation issues, but didn’t and had to be closed, officials said.
Students said they were sad to see the restaurants go.
“I’m going to miss my places to get food,” Caleb Williams said.
That doesn’t mean he thinks the food safety issues weren’t important enough to shut them down, though, Williams said.
“It definitely does not make me feel good,” he said.
UCF officials said the restaurants’ parent company, AD Food Services, started operating on campus in 2007 and also managed Corner Café, which closed at the end of the past semester for unrelated reasons.
