LAKE WORTH, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Attorney General James Uthmeier held a press conference today at the Palm Beach State College Public Safety Complex in Lake Worth Beach.
During the briefing, DeSantis outlined Florida’s ongoing voter fraud enforcement efforts and announced a new national standards initiative.
The initiative centers on the newly formed Association of State and Local Election Officials, which seeks to create nationwide election-management standards and practices. Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd leads the group.
The announcement comes alongside updates on Florida’s state-level enforcement efforts. Since the establishment of Florida’s Office of Election Crimes and Security in 2022, the state has surpassed 100 voter fraud prosecutions.
DeSantis defended the state’s ongoing oversight while addressing critics who question the prevalence of voter fraud.
“Florida has done more than any other state in the country to ensure the integrity of elections, it’s not even close,” DeSantis said.
