, Fla. — Families can embark on an underwater treasure hunt during a limited-time Halloween event at SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium.
Pirates of the Haunted Seas will take place Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1. The event is included with regular aquarium admission.
What families can experience
Guests will receive a treasure map and travel through the aquarium completing pirate-themed activities and searching for hidden loot.
The adventure will take families past sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, axolotls, seahorses and thousands of other marine animals.
Activities will include:
- A meet-and-greet with the Pirate Captain
- Rope-knot tying and “Tales of the Deep”
- Coral education activities
- A shark-matching game
- Sea Dogs shark talks near the aquarium’s 360-degree ocean tunnel
- Florida wildlife talks and coloring activities
Children who complete the quest will receive a commemorative gold coin and a pirate-themed candy bag filled with Haribo treats.
“Pirates of the Haunted Seas brings together imaginative play, hands-on learning and unforgettable marine encounters in a way that’s uniquely SEA LIFE Orlando,” General Manager Paul Gould said.
Optional experiences
Guests can add a Legend of Lusca virtual reality experience for $8 per person. The attraction takes participants on a virtual journey through coral reefs and shipwrecks in the Bahamas.
A 30-minute behind-the-scenes tour is also available for an additional $10 per person. The tour shows visitors how aquarium staff prepare meals, monitor habitats and care for the animals.
Pirates of the Haunted Seas is included with general admission to SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium at ICON Park.
