KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Authorities have arrested a second suspect in connection with a July homicide at a Central Florida motel.
Jihad Basil Scott was arrested in Morrisville, N.C. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder.
The charge stems from a July 11, 2026, stabbing at the Days Inn located at 4125 W. Vine Street in Kissimmee.
Police officers responded to the motel at around 12:49 a.m. after receiving a report of an injured man.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with stab wounds. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following his arrest by the Morrisville Police Department, Scott was extradited to the Osceola County Jail.
He is the second suspect arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing.
Keith Swinton Jr. was arrested in July 2026 and also faces a charge of first-degree murder.
Kissimmee Police Chief Charles Broadway praised the work of investigators and out-of-state law enforcement following Scott’s arrest.
“This arrest is the result of the dedication and persistence of our detectives, who worked diligently to identify those responsible and move this case forward,” Broadway said. “We appreciate the assistance of the Morrisville Police Department in locating and taking the suspect into custody.”
