MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Gilligan Racing LLC is advancing plans to construct a new Thoroughbred racetrack in Marion County, Florida.
The company holds an exclusive agreement for the state’s only available racing permit and is collaborating with industry experts like Ron Winchell and Marc Falcone.
Partner John Morgan said the group had long believed Marion County — known as the Horse Capital of the World — was the right place to build the future of Florida Thoroughbred racing.
While no specific location or timeline has been finalized, developers aim to boost local tourism and the regional equine industry through this project.
