Mom, children escape Winter Park house fire, officials say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A family in Winter Park were able to escape to safety after their home caught fire Thursday morning, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.

Officials said the fire occurred just before at 6 a.m. at a home in the 2300 block of Elsinore Avenue.

A woman and her two children were able to escape the home and the fire was extinguished quickly, according to officials.

Firefighters were also able to save the family dog.

Red Cross has assisted after the family was displaced.

Officials have not said what may have caused the fire.
