SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seth Reynolds’ lifelong dream to become a firefighter came one step closer to reality on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old graduated Tuesday from EMT school at First Response Training School in Orange County and learned the school will provide him a full scholarship worth $9,000 to paramedic school.

Channel 9 first aired a story about Reynolds’ career dreams in December. His mentor since he was 5 years old — Lt. Jeff Vining of the Seminole County Fire Department — was present for his graduation and scholarship announcement.
“It was an awesome feeling. I mean, I was so happy when he told me this was his graduation day that he wanted me to be here,” Vining said.

Reynolds said it’s his ultimate goal to work alongside Vining at Station 29.
First, Reynolds has to pass his national registry EMT exam before entering paramedic school and fire school.
