Central Florida shelters open amid frigid temperatures

Temperatures plummeted across Central Florida Wednesday night, with many areas falling to the 20s and 30s.

For those who may not have a warm place to stay, shelters will be available in some cities.

This story will be updated as more information is released from county officials.

The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida said it won't refuse anyone seeking shelter from the cold Wednesday and Thursday. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Its address is 639 W. Central Blvd. near downtown Orlando.

Overflow space will be available for single women and families at the Center for Women and Families and for single men at the Men’s Service Center.
