ORLANDO, Fla. — If people don’t feel like having the shopping experience at Walmart, they can now rely on Uber to help them.
Customers of the big-box giant can have their groceries delivered to them via Uber. Walmart customers order their groceries online, select a delivery window and Walmart employees pick up the items, an Uber spokesperson said. An employee with Walmart will request an Uber, and the driver delivers the groceries to the customer.
The service is only available in test market Orlando, Tampa and Dallas right now.
“We’re continuing to build technology that helps power delivery logistics for businesses to offer more convenience for their customers delivering what they need, when they need it,” said spokesperson for Uber in Florida Javi Correoso.
Walmart began grocery delivery in Denver and San Jose, California, in 2013. It was expanded to Phoenix in June 2016 and Tampa in March.
The delivery charge is $9.95.
