SpaceX set for Dragon cargo launch from Florida’s Space Coast

Early risers could catch SpaceX’s next rocket launch from Cape Canaveral on Tuesday.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX crews are preparing to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Florida’s Space Coast.

SpaceX is targeting early Tuesday morning to launch its next Dragon cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station.

The Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off at 6:33 a.m. from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

If needed, a backup launch opportunity is available Wednesday at 6:08 a.m.

The mission, known as Commercial Resupply Services-35 (CRS-35), will deliver supplies and cargo to the orbiting laboratory as part of NASA’s ongoing efforts to support research and operations aboard the space station.

Following an approximately 52-hour journey, the Dragon spacecraft is expected to dock with the International Space Station at around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

After the launch, SpaceX plans to land the ricket’s first-stage booster back on the ground at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The ground landing will produce a sonic boom that could be heard around the Space Coast.
