SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Spectrum has expanded its high-speed internet network to more than 900 homes and small businesses in Seminole County. The project, which is nearing completion, offers internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second, along with mobile, television, and voice services.
The local expansion is part of a multi-year rural construction initiative funded by more than $7 billion in private investment. Through this program, Spectrum aims to provide internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations nationwide.
On a national level, the company plans to add more than 100,000 miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure. This initiative focuses on bringing symmetrical and multi-gigabit internet speeds to rural areas. Across the United States, the program is designed to reach more than 1.7 million new locations.
In addition to the infrastructure work, Spectrum presented a $15,000 Beyond the Build Digital Education grant to Christian Tech Center Ministries in Longwood yesterday. The presentation occurred at the ministry headquarters on West State Road 434. The funding is intended to support digital access and education for area students and families.
Andria Herr, chairwoman of the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, highlighted the impact of the project on the local community. “Expanding high-speed Internet is essential for Seminole County’s growth and opportunity,” Herr said. “Partnerships like this help bridge the digital divide, giving more families and businesses access to the tools they need to succeed.”
