SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has provided an update regarding the local man seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on CR-470 that occurred on Tuesday.
Troopers report that the unidentified driver involved in the September 8th crash in Wildwood died from his injuries on September 9th.

Wildwood man seriously injured in three-vehicle crash on CR-470
A 36-year-old Wildwood man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers on County Road 470.
The incident happened at approximately 6:50 a.m. at CR-470’s entrance. A Nissan Sentra driver, stopped westbound to turn left, was hit from behind when a tractor-trailer traveling westbound failed to stop.
The impact propelled the sedan into the path of an oncoming eastbound tractor-trailer, which then collided with the sedan.
The westbound tractor-trailer was driven by a 57-year-old man from Georgia. The eastbound tractor-trailer was driven by a 54-year-old man from New York.
Emergency responders transported the Wildwood driver to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Neither tractor-trailer driver was injured in the crash.
