ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, along with other organizations, held a supply drive in an Orange county neighborhood Friday, to help about 200 families now being forced out of Cypress Landing Apartments.

The complex suffered severe flooding after Hurricane Ian, leaving many without homes.
Residents have been told that they have to be out of their apartments by the end of the month.
Judith Monte De Oca is one of many residents living there who’s home was destroyed.

“I started screaming,” De Oca said. “I don’t got no place to go,”
The county partnered with the Red Cross, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, the Salvation Army and Operation Shared Shoes.
The event, organized by Orange County commissioner Mayra Uribe, offered hurricane victims everything from cleaning products, food, footwear and clothing, to toys for kids.
More than 200 families were in attendance.

De Oca said she’s so grateful for the assistance that the county has provided.
“I love it they are helping us,” she said. “I’m really thankful because, if this didn’t happen, I don’t know where we would be right now,”
Management at Cypress Landing is offering residents a full refund of October’s rent.

They said if the residents decide to move, they will get their rental deposit back in full.
