KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A bicyclist discovered a suspicious device that was found near Kissimmee City Hall on Thursday, but it was later identified as a light fixture.
The Orlando Bomb Squad were at the scene and determined it was not a dangerous device.
Kissimmee police said they evacuated City Hall, and the streets surrounding it were closed.
The light fixture was destroyed and disposed of by the Orange County Bomb Squad.
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office's K-9 team did a precautionary sweep of the building and found no other devices.
The roads were reopened around 2:30 p.m.
Even though it was not deemed dangerous, City Hall remained closed for the rest of the day.
