MELBOURNE, Fla. — A movie theater in Melbourne is open after it was evacuated Saturday night when someone discovered a suspicious package, deputies said.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called to the Carmike Cinemas Avenue 16 in Melbourne around 8:00 p.m.
A sheriff's office spokesperson said the theater was evacuated while deputies investigated the suspicious item.
Officials said that they determined there was nothing dangerous inside the package, and the theater was reopened around 10:50 p.m.
