ORLANDO, Fla.,None — Charges are still pending against a driver who slammed her SUV into an Orlando condominium complex.
The front of the black SUV went right through the wall of the Thousand Oaks condos near Michigan Street and Mills Avenue.
Investigators said the SUV side-swiped another car then ran into the building.
The family of four that was inside said the crash knocked over their china cabinet and pushed the wall two feet out.
Officials believe a medical issue caused the woman to pass out while driving. The driver was alert when she was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
“Well we are very fortunate she didn't catch any other vehicles or hit them head-on coming in here. Nobody was hurt in the building,” said Chief Mike Druege, of the Orlando Fire Department.
Orlando code enforcement had to be called out to make sure the building was safe for people to go back inside.
