ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department has made an arrest in the Sept 5 shooting that left a victim hospitalized in stable condition.
According to OPD, 17-year-old Justin Floress Herrera was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
According to police, the victim in this case was working in the area of 2742 East Colonial Drive when he was approached by Herrera, who began yelling at him while brandishing a firearm.
A physical altercation ensued, where Herrera fired three shots, striking the victim, before he fled from the scene.
OPD, through its investigation, was able to identify Herrera as a suspect and later detained him and recovered his firearm.
The case remains an open investigation.
