ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old is in stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center after a shooting at the Dunwoodie Place apartments in Orange County.
Officials said a black male with a colored mohawk drove by the teen in a 2004 blue Chevy Cavalier and a male in the back seat opened fire Friday night.
The car is a four-door sedan with dark tinted windows and three chrome hubcaps. The passenger side rear hubcap is missing, officials said.
The car was last seen westbound on Texas Avenue going toward Americana Boulevard.
"I actually thought somebody got hit by a car or something," said a woman who didn't want to be identified. "We noticed the man on the ground bleeding, waiting for the ambulance to get here."
"The rear passenger opened fire on the victim. The vehicle quickly fled out of the area," Lt. Paul Hopkins with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
On Tuesday night a man came home and found his 46-year-old roommate shot dead in the same complex.
Deputies were still looking for clues in that case and don't believe Friday's shooting is related.
Both shootings have neighbors on edge.
"It's usually pretty quiet, until this week," said the neighbor.
