ORLANDO, Fla. — Thieves used a stolen front-loader to steal an ATM from a Chase Bank on Lee Vista Boulevard Thursday, police said.
Authorities said the thieves were able to pull the machine from its base.
Orlando police said they responded to an alarm call at the Chase Bank at about 5:25 a.m. Thursday.
The bank's drive-through is badly damaged and is closed Thursday for repairs.
Police said the front-loader was found at the scene. Officers said they believe the thieves put the ATM into another vehicle to get away.
Crime scene investigators gathered potential evidence and said the case is an active investigation.
The ATM contained an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
Police told Channel 9 that they have surveillance video of the ATM theft, but are not yet ready to release the video.
