Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued in Central Florida

The warning comes as strong thunderstorms develop across the region amid hot and humid conditions

ORLANDO, Fla. — The National Weather Service has issued weather warnings as strong storms move through Central Florida.

Active Alerts

A Severe T’Storm Warning has been issued for central Marion County until 6:30 PM.

This includes Ocala.

Movement is southwest at 5 mph.

Greatest threats are winds over 50 mph, intense lightning and hail.

Additional strong to severe storms remain possible in parts of Central Florida through the evening hours.

Expired Alerts

A Severe T’Storm Warning has been issued for southern Orange and northern Osceola counties until 4:30 PM.

This includes Orlando, the Orlando International Airport and Lake Nona.

Movement is southwest at 10 mph.

Greatest threats are winds over 50 mph, intense lightning and small hail.

Additional strong to severe storms are possible in parts of Central Florida through the evening hours.
