ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry left Orlando Saturday morning to do a damage survey of the Central Florida coast after Hurricane Matthew.

"The storm will be known for its record storm surge," Terry said. "It brought more storm surge damage than we really thought possible along the coast." %

Tom spoke with one man Saturday afternoon who told him he paddled across the submerged causeway on a surfboard to see the damage to his home.
