ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Law enforcement officers searched for a driver who fled a traffic stop in a 2026 BMW M340i on State Road 50 and abandoned the vehicle near State Road 408 on Saturday evening.
The incident began when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper patrolling State Road 50 observed the BMW driving recklessly through moderate traffic. When the trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled by crossing the median into heavy stopped traffic.
The trooper lost visual contact with the BMW near State Road 408 and Challenger Way, prompting officers to terminate the pursuit. The vehicle was later located disabled and empty on Rouse Road near State Road 408.
Troopers and Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies canvassed the surrounding area using both air and ground support. Search teams were unable to locate the suspect, and all law enforcement units have since cleared the scene.
Authorities towed the 2026 BMW M340i from Rouse Road for processing and holding as evidence.
FHP is continuing to investigate the active case.
