Ukraine independence day celebration scheduled for downtown Orlando

Representatives from the Orlando and Orange County mayors’ offices, Orange County Commission and Florida House of Representatives are also expected to attend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando will commemorate the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence with a celebration in downtown Orlando on Monday.

The event will bring together members of Central Florida’s Ukrainian-American community, faith and community leaders and supporters of Ukraine.

Representatives from the Orlando and Orange County mayors’ offices, Orange County Commission and Florida House of Representatives are also expected to attend.

The program will include official remarks, proclamations, a traditional Ukrainian presentation and a special presentation at the end of the evening.

The celebration begins at 7 p.m. Monday at City Commons Plaza, located at 400 S. Orange Ave.

The event is organized by Ukrainian Spirit by Yaryna Levytska.
