VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County will hold two free household hazardous waste collection events in October.
The first event will take place Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at Ormond Beach Public Works. A second collection will be held Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon at New Smyrna Beach Public Works.
Residents can drop off items including old paint, batteries, pool chemicals, pesticides, motor oil, gasoline and other household chemicals.
The county said the events are for residents only, and participants will need to provide proof of Volusia County residency.
Residents must remain in their vehicles while materials are unloaded.
