The remaining four puppies received blood transfusions and are undergoing medical treatments for parasites. Officials said they will be placed in foster care in hopes of a full recovery.

The shelter is asking for donations to its Emergency Medical Fund to ensure that they have adequate funding to save the puppies and the next round of animals in need.
