DELAND, Fla. — A woman has been arrested after DeLand police say she stabbed her brother in the chest early Tuesday morning.
The DeLand Police Department responded to a home in the Villa Villar neighborhood around 5 a.m.
Investigators said the 53-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a single stab wound to the chest. He remains in critical condition.
According to police, the suspect is the victim’s sister, who was serving as an in-home caretaker for three people at the residence. She was taken into custody.
No other victims were reported.
