ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — A roadway near Tomoka State Park is closed on Friday because of flooding and water covering the road, officials said.
The closure affects the area from the entrance to Tomoka State Park to Pine Tree Drive. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
Officials said the flooding is connected to the current peak tide. While conditions are expected to improve as the tide lowers, motorists should allow extra travel time and use caution in surrounding areas.
“Never drive through floodwater,” officials warned. Drivers should not attempt to cross standing water if they are unsure of its depth or the conditions beneath it.
