DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — According to the Daytona Beach Fire Department, a multi-vehicle crash involving an overturned box truck and a vehicle fire temporarily blocked westbound I-4 lanes overnight.
Firefighters arrived to find a large debris field spread across the highway, an overturned box truck and a vehicle burning in the median. Crews first confirmed that everyone involved had escaped their vehicles before extinguishing the fire.
Volusia County EMS and other emergency responders evaluated the occupants at the scene. No injuries were reported, officials said.
Responders also located another vehicle connected to the crash farther down the roadway. That vehicle had minimal damage.
The incident required a coordinated response from multiple agencies to clear debris, extinguish the fire and address other hazards along the interstate.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
