DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Frustrating and concerning. That's how one Volusia County council member describes her experience trying to get her husband, who's a first responder, tested for COVID-19.
Volusia County council member Heather Post took video Sunday of a sign advertising COVID-19 testing at the Daytona International Speedway, but the site was actually closed.

Post said her husband, Randy Post, who's a deputy with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, had a severe fever over the weekend that left him drenched in sweat and disoriented.
She said the county administration said to take him to use AdventHealth's drive-by testing site at the speedway, but it was closed for the weekend.
Testing resumed here at the Speedway on Monday, but both Post and the county said they were unaware AdventHealth had stopped doing the test here over the weekend.

Post said she was next directed to go to the Card Club, but it was closed too.
Next was a trip to Urgent Care, where Post said she was told they'd need a doctor's referral and must meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
While Post said her husband was finally able to get tested, she just wants to make sure people get the right information when it comes to where and how they can be tested.
“We are in a state of emergency here, the front line of communications should be focused on providing the most accurate,” Post said.
The county said it immediately updated the information on its website and is linking it to the sites doing the testing and the criteria.
