VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is in search of 27-year-old Joseph Woodard after sending letters from jail under a fake alias to the subject of his stalking case from earlier in the month.
Woodard was accused of trying to meet a 16-year-old girl he met on Snapchat.
The girl reported twice that Woodard showed up at her house uninvited. On the second visit, the teenager showed Woodard that she alerted for help. In response, Woodard shot multiple rounds into the ground outside the home and left in his truck.
Volusia Sheriff’s Office deputies later found Woodard and took him into custody on stalking, armed trespassing, discharge of a firearm from a vehicle (no bond), discharge of a firearm on residential property, and resisting.
Woodard is accused of sending letters using the name of his cellmate to the victim in an attempt to avoid his no-contact order.
Woordard bonded out of jail on Aug. 19. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact VSO.
