PALM BAY, Fla. — Palm Bay police were responding to a report of battery when they say a shirtless West Melbourne man shot a handgun and then urinated on a truck in front of an officer, according to a recent arrest report.
Officers responded to the intersection of Wingham Drive and Lefrak Road Thursday and reported that within moments of arriving heard a gunshot about 25 feet away.
A man, later identified as Christopher Travis Moylan, 25, was seen behind a nearby truck.
When officers approached him, the man started to urinate, the report said.
A gray handgun was at his feet, police said.
“I asked Christopher what he was doing and he replied, ‘I’m pissing,’” the reporting officer wrote.
Officers detained Moylan, who “became very upset and uncooperative” as they walked him to their patrol vehicles, the arrest report said.
When officers asked the man how much he’d had to drink that night, he replied, “Not much, maybe six beers,” the report said.
According to the officers, Moylan said he fired the gun into the ground because he thought he heard his brother-in-law yell for help.
He was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm while intoxicated.
