Wildlife officials search for suspect after jet skier dies in hit-and-run on Lake Monroe

SANFORD, Fla. — Florida wildlife officials said they are searching for a fishing boat that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Lake Monroe.

Officials said witnesses reported seeing a fishing boat hit a Jet Ski then leaving the crash Saturday morning.

Two boats stopped to help the victim, Reid McMenamy, 43, who later died in a hospital.

Investigators said they are looking for a fishing-style boat about 20 feet long, light in color with a black single motor.

They said a man was driving the boat and it might have some front damage and red paint.
