Windy conditions and scattered showers set to persist through Sunday

CENTRAL FLA. — It has been a windy Saturday with scattered showers, and more wind and rain are ahead for Sunday.

The scattered showers will continue this evening and tonight, with the best chance for activity at the coast. Winds will increase further tonight, with gusts over 40 mph possible at the coast. Morning lows will be in the upper 60s.

The gusty winds will continue into Sunday. Once again, wind gusts could exceed 40 mph at the coast, with scattered showers likely throughout the day. Highs to close out the weekend will be in the low 80s.

Even more wind is ahead to start next week. The strong onshore flow, along with the King Tides, will lead to coastal flooding at the coast both Monday and Tuesday. Temps to start next week will be in the low 80s.

It now looks like enough moisture will remain in place to keep the chance of scattered showers in place through the middle of next week. The winds will slowly decrease by Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the low 80s.

The threat for a few showers will continue into Friday and Halloween as moisture remains in place across the region.
