LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Lake County said a woman was arrested on over 30 animal cruelty charges.

Investigators said Lori Gonzalez was arrested Wednesday in Tavares on 31 counts of animal cruelty after 31 emaciated cows were discovered on her property.

The arrest followed an investigation prompted by the discovery of cattle in severe distress at her residence, officials said.

Deputies said a veterinarian found the 31 cattle on Ms. Gonzalez’s property were severely neglected.

Gonzalez was booked into the Lake County Jail on a $77,500 bond.
