ORLANDO, Fla. — WRDQ-TV 27 is getting a new name.
Cox Media Group Orlando announced Monday that the station will become MagicTV 27, expanding its focus on local sports, entertainment and Channel 9 Eyewitness News programming.
The rebrand follows CMG Orlando’s multi-year broadcast agreement with the Orlando Magic, which made WRDQ-TV 27 and WFTV Channel 9 the team’s exclusive local broadcast partners.
What will air on MagicTV 27
MagicTV 27 will carry 77 Orlando Magic regular-season games this season.
The station will also air home games from the Osceola Magic and Orlando Solar Bears, along with Channel 9 Eyewitness News weekday mornings from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and nightly at 10 p.m.
Syndicated programming, including “Family Feud,” will remain part of the lineup.
How to watch
Programming will continue to be available free over the air and through cable, satellite, streaming MVPDs and other platforms that already carry the station.
“MagicTV 27 represents much more than a new name,” Darren Moore, senior vice president and general manager of CMG Orlando TV, said. “It reflects our commitment to delivering premium sports and entertainment programming that is accessible to everyone.”
The MagicTV 27 branding will roll out across on-air graphics, digital platforms, promotions and community outreach.
