PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — An Ohio man was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

Agents arrested James Edward Groover on June 17, 2019 as he returned to Port Canaveral from a three-day cruise to the Bahamas.

According to court records, the files were discovered when customs agents conducted a search of Groover’s phone and laptop.

During their inspection, agents found more than 6,000 videos and images of child pornography, as well as a digital manual that provided instructions on how to abuse young children.

Groover had been convicted in 2005 for possession of child pornography after Canadian authorities found pictures on his laptop as he crossed the border from the U.S.
