SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A bizarre accident at a local golf course Wednesday afternoon sent a maintenance worker to the hospital with a serious head injury, police told WFTV. However, Thursday afternoon, WFTV learned he died from his injuries.
Officials said Maurice Hayden was doing landscaping work at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford when a golf ball hit him in the temple. Officials said Hayden was not doing well when he was rushed to a Seminole County hospital.
As of now, no charges are pending against the golfer because police said the incident appeared to be an accident.
