Officer In Burlington Coat Factory Case Gets Demoted

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An officer from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, who was accused of releasing information prematurely in the case of a teen who took a girl from a store, was demoted and suspended Monday, according to sheriff's office.

Major Frank Fabrizio of the Special Operations and Investigation Division was under investigation and a charge of Unsatisfactory Performance was sustained.

Fabrizio was served with a proper notice and has elected not to appeal the findings. Major Fabrizio was served with 120 hours of suspension and has been demoted to the rank of Captain. He will be immediately assigned to the Court Services and Communications Division.
