‘Operation Burglar Box’ underway across Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — In an effort to reduce post-holiday burglaries, some law enforcement agencies across Central Florida have teamed up with garbage and recycling companies and have implemented “Operation Burglar Box.”

The program gives residents an opportunity to discard boxes from expensive items in a place other than in the garbage in front of their home.

Deputies say leaving boxes from “big-ticket-item” gifts on the curb in front of your house leaves you open to potential burglars.
