According to the Orlando Police Department, none of the witnesses interviewed corroborated the alleged victim's story and the forensics failed to support her allegations. Investigators said, after interviewing someone the woman had been living with, they decided to re-interview the alleged victim on May 19 and she admitted she made it up.
Investigators said the woman said she was not sexually assaulted and came up with the description of the suspect based on a person who did speak with her, told her she was attractive and said she didn't belong on the streets; however, no further actions occurred.
As a result of the claim, police said, over 100 tips were received, the lead detective, assisted by two detectives and sergeant, spent around 40 hours working the case, multiple witnesses were interviewed, people who were innocent were contacted, FDLE prioritized the case and the community was put in fear.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and they are still reviewing whether charges of a false report will be filed against the once-alleged victim.
