Transvestite maid accused of inappropriately touching teen hotel guest

ORLANDO, Fla. — A housekeeper was arrested Thursday on charges of molesting a teenager inside of an International Drive hotel.

Orlando police said the attack happened at a Days Inn on July 4 after the boy’s mother went down to the front desk of the hotel on International Drive.

Police arrested 35-year-old Vanessa Olmos, but they said Olmos is actually a man who identifies himself and lives as a female, working as a housekeeper.

The 14-year-old boy told police that Olmos walked in to clean the room and asked if the boy was there alone.  Police said when the boy stated that he was alone, Olmos inappropriately touched him.

Investigators were called to the scene and said Olmos denied entering the room. However, police arrested and charged him with molestation and battery.

“(This) never occurred in the hotel before,” said manager Amjid Akram. “It’s a very safe place.  We’ve got a lot of families staying at the hotel.  We’ve never had a problem here."

Akram said he didn’t know about the maid’s true gender and that the housekeeping service is contracted through a third party.

The victim's mother told police she wants to prosecute. Olmos is being held in the Orange County Jail.
