Radio Host Begins Probation Violation Sentence

ORLANDO, Fla. — A central Florida radio host accused of shooting his wife while aiming at her dog has begun serving a probation violation sentence.

Shannon Burke was transferred Friday from the Seminole County jail, where he was serving a sentence in the shooting, to Orange County.

At the time of the shooting, Burke was on probation for an earlier alcohol-related reckless driving incident. In January, a judge ordered him to serve a 60-day probation violation sentence after completing his Seminole County jail term.

Burke pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and firing a gun in a building. Authorities say Burke was at his Altamonte Springs home last year when he fired a shot that went through the dog's leg and then grazed his wife.

Burke was fired from Real Radio after the shooting.
