ORLANDO, Fla. — The Coalition for the Homeless will kick-off it's Delivering Hope campaign on Saturday in Orlando. The new campaign is a partnership with Doorstep Delivery and will deliver unused food from local restaurants to the homeless coalition kitchen on a nightly basis.
Coalition officials say the program will be a huge asset to the organization and gives local restaurants a way to help out.
Saturday's event is a way to get the word out about the new program and highlight the need for additional restaurants to join the cause.
According to the Coalition for the Homeless, Mellow Mushroom, Too Jay's, The Virgin Olive Market, Menchies, and Pizzeria Valdiano's have already agreed to donate their unused food.
The kick-off event will be held at 11:00 at the Coalition for the Homeless main campus in downtown Orlando.
