ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — 40-year-old Laqunda Hill turned herself in Sunday morning. She was arrested and charged with 13 counts of child neglect.
On Saturday, Orange County sheriff's deputies arrested two other former employees LaQuanda King and her co-worker Michele Bell. They were also charged with 13 counts of child neglect.
The three daycare workers walked off the job Friday and left 13 children alone for more than an hour at All Stars Child Care on West Colonial Drive. (see map)
The oldest child, a 9-year-old boy, watched after the 12 smaller children who ranged in age from 14-months to 5-years.
Investigators say the daycare owner, Ednita Williams, fired Bell on Friday because she had not completed her child caregiver certification classes. Williams says she told Bell she had to stay until the end of the day, but when Williams came back from an errand, Bell, King, and Hill were gone. King told WFTV she had not been paid about $100 dollars she was owed.
