ORLANDO, Fla. — Meteorologist Brian Shields said dense fog advisories were in place for some areas in central Florida Tuesday morning.
"After some spots saw over three inches of rain yesterday, today we will be drier. We still have a slight chance of a pop-up showers, but nothing like yesterday. Temperatures will be rather comfortable too, in the 70s," Shields said. "Tonight, more thick fog could redevelop. It'll stay mild with most temperatures in the low 60s."
There were near-record rainfall totals reported in central Florida on Monday.
Showers moved through central Florida for hours and a few thunderstorms were reported in some areas.
The heavy rain prompted flood advisories in a few counties and some areas received more than three inches of rain, according to Severe Weather Center 9 chief meteorologist Tom Terry.
In Celebration, roughly 5 inches of rain was reported. Orlando typically averages just 2.35 inches for the entire month of January.
