ALLENDALE, S.C. — A South Carolina boy and his family had been saving money to head to Walt Disney World for his birthday, but instead, Jermaine Bell took the cash that was supposed to go to pay for his trip to see Mickey Mouse and used it to make sure Hurricane Dorian evacuees had something to eat, WTVD reported.
He bought hot dogs, chips and water to give to South Carolina evacuees as they escape the storm.
He then took the feast and stood along Highway 125 in Allendale, South Carolina, handing out the food to almost 100 evacuees.
"The people that are traveling to go to places, I wanted them to have some food to eat, so they can enjoy the ride to the place they are going to stay at," Jermaine told WJBF.
How did they find him? He made two signs, one on either end of the highway, to alert drivers to his table.
Jermaine, who turns 7 this weekend, also prayed with some of those trying to find shelter from the impending storm.
"He actually even prayed for a family while they were here in reference to their house being OK when they got back, so that was really tear-dropping," Aretha Grant, the little boy's grandmother, told WJBF.
Jermaine still hopes to get to Disney, but the trip will wait until after the storm passes. He has big plans when he gets to Orlando.
"Go to Animal Kingdom and see lots of lions and have a 'Lion King' party," he told WJBF.
