Mouse falls from White House ceiling, sending press into mad scramble

A rodent fell from the ceiling of the press both at the White House Tuesday morning, frightening reporters and causing a panicked scramble as the mouse ran around the booth and eventually escaped in the briefing room.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A mouse fell from the ceiling of the White House press booth Tuesday morning, sending reporters running for cover.

"A mouse literally fell out of the ceiling in our White House booth and landed on my lap," NBC White House correspondent Peter Alexander posted on social media.

Others posted images and videos showing reporters in a mad panic trying to both find and avoid the rodent as it scurried around the press booth.

CNBC correspondent Eamon Javers tweeted, "Chase underway," as the mouse escaped the booth and ran into the White House press briefing room, The Hill reported.

Despite the reporters' best efforts, the rodent escaped and is still at large.
